This blog is to document my latest art project exploring the body of a woman and the unique pronounced power of every piece and angle. Through the use of life-casting I will be capturing my vision of the female form exploring the lines and individual details of the woman's body and grace. Follow this journey as I plan on updating with interviews with my models, sneak previews into how each piece is molded and then cast.

Waking a sleeping a giant...
So I have had this project in stasis for a while. Time to wake it up. I have a number of great pieces of art created but I have also learned lots about life casting, molding, and even interviewing and hiring models for my project. All this has taught me one thing, I can do even better pieces and I must keep pushing my self. More to come soon!

A new mold and only 3 more to cast!
So this weekend I made a new mold for EVE. Now that I am mostly recovered from Christmas and holidays I can devote more time to finishing out the first round of pieces. I now have 3 molds to complete positives with. I also want to try a couple of alternate metals and patina effects on my favorite molds to give me some diverse looks. I will hopefully have new pics and possibly a finished website to display them this February.

The first set of finished pieces
Well, here are the first three FINISHED Project EVE displays. All are cast in Copper with Patina colorization using combined oxidation and minerals to bring out different colors in the metal.
I will be casting 3 more with my remaining molds then I will be ready to do round two of molds!

Some sample pieces... a sneak peek into what is coming!
I did a test shoot at my studio last weekend so I could show yall what these art pieces will look like. The first is a fiberglass pull from one of my molds trimmed and primed. It dosnt have the metal coating to it yet but it gives you the idea of what each piece will look like.
I will be shooting two final finished pieces over the thanksgiving holidays so keep your eyes peeled for that update.
Here is a test casting using metal powder to simulate the look a being cast in Copper.

Starting on my final peices this week!
Well, my materials I have been waiting on have arrived. For the final pieces I have chosen to use a very high grade Polyester Layup Resin with fiberglass to allow strength along with economy and most importantly ultra high heat resistance.
Because these pieces are cold cast metal on the surface I have chosen a clear uv resistant polyester gel coat to use with the metal powder. I am playing with different kinds of Patina to achieve different effects with the final look of the metal.
A big thanks to BITY Mold Supply for being my one stop shop for my mold materials as well as my Sculpt Nouveau Patina solutions to add extra personality to each piece.
I should have some photos to share in the coming week so keep your eyes peeled for that!

Mold session 2 a success!
Here is an update from last Saturday. We had a great session with our two wonderful models. First up was Nadya. She was a ton of fun to work with and I think her personality and energy will show threw on the final piece she is helping us create.
Our second model Kitty Katastrophe was an equal delight! She collaborated with me to capture a pose I had been pondering on. The mold came out great and next week I will cast my positive!
Here are some photos from the session.

Prepping for round two of mold-making...
I am super excited to announce our second molding session coming up this Saturday October 8th.
I have two great models scheduled and I am trying to figure out how to fit in one more. This time around should go even faster and better then the last one. As with last time I will have photos of me and my team hard at work creating these molds in my studio.
On October 15th I will be ordering my supplies to start making the final art pieces so stay tuned for that!

Had a great time working with our two models this sunday. The molds came out great and we even finished up early.
Here are a few pictures documenting the molding process.
Our first model was Cait. She was beyond professional and very patient during this process.

Our second model was Natasha. There was a bit of confusion with her scheduling but we got her in and finished the mold in record time.
I am expecting to do my next session on October 8th. Now that I have my molding table and supplies in Dallas, the fun of getting all of this over to the studio is no longer an issue. The process should continue to go faster and better each time.
A big thanks to my models and my assistants, especially my lovely wife who prepped all my models!

We have our first studio day set up!
I will be molding my models at the Sam Cantu Photo Studio. I have our first day booked for Sunday the 18th from 2pm to 10pm. I am very excited to see this project take on a life of its own and this is only the beginning. I will have an assistant on hand that day to document with some videos and still photos of the process as well as interview the models both prior and after the process is complete to share on this blog.

First model officially cast!
Today was a vary important day for this project. We had our first meeting with our first model hired for EVE. I feel very grateful to have the talents of Caitlyn Aidas on Project EVE. Like each model cast for this, she brings an original look, attitude and energy.
She was kind enough to agree to be part of this blog documenting this project. Caitlyn is not only a model but an artist of many traits. I invite you to look at her work on her personal site Here. I will have some more updates shortly so stay tuned.
